Coming Around...

I received this email over the weekend, and felt it must be shared:

You know what? I've really had a "Road to Damascus" moment, or moments, the last few days. I think I've finally come to the "other side" on the desktop virtualization subject. It is truly - TRULY - bulls**t running multiple "hardware" desktops in a corporate environment, especially a small or medium-sized business. I'm compiling a list right now, of why it sucks so much. I'm also doing a "Cons" list as well. The cons list is a lot shorter, as you can imagine!

I'm in the middle of my Windows 7 migration at <client redacted>, and kind of thinking what a waste of time this really is. Most of them are already used to working on a TS. I am also about to physically replace their servers - why not to the cloud?  Why not their desktops too? There are a few potential reasons why not, but I think they are surmountable.

I'm also just about to pull the trigger on new server hardware at <another client redacted>. I'd hate to make all that investment (financial and mental!) only to say, "Why didn't we just virtualize the whole damn shooting match?"
